My Favourite Sports Person: M. S. Dhoni
From Childhood, I love playing and watching cricket. This is among one of the most-watched and played sports in the world. My favorite sportsperson is Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
If I want to take some of the most famous and successful captains of the Indian cricket team who have won all the ICC tournaments for India then the Name M. S. Dhoni will come among the top 3.
The early life of M. S. Dhoni:
Born in the Jharkhand state of India. He was a sportsperson who love football and cricket as well. His life journey is very struggling. He used to practice cricket a lot. He was among the famous kid in his town.
The people of the whole school were interested in watching his batting. Under the leadership of Dravid and Saurav, he get the best learning lesion and then became the captain of an Indian cricket team.
Life during Train Ticket collector:
Dhoni got a post of Ticket collector on the Indian railway because of his good performance in sports. But he wanted to play for India and that thought of playing for the country was always haunting him and in a way always in his back of mind that he is a good player and has to represent India on an international level.
Hence he worked on the railway for some time and then risking his job decided to leave a job and play cricket and hence in such uncertainties he left his job and started playing for the Ranji trophy.
Afterlife getting selected in Indian cricket team:
Dhoni became the permanent wicketkeeper-batsman after some great performances. Then his helicopter shot and praise for his hairstyle by Pakistani PM is also unique and confidence-boosting.
He was then selected to lead team India in 2007. Under his leadership, India won the ICC T 20 world cut that year. India was the top test team in test ranking for almost eighteen months. Also, India won the 2011 world cup under his leadership. He won many awards during his tenure.
He is also among the most captain in IPL history to reach to finals and in the quarter-finals. The franchise Chennai super kings is almost every time reaches to finals under his guidance. In the year 2021, Dhoni also wins the 4th IPL trophy for Chennai. He is a very smart and thinking player who always keeps his players cool and calm. Hence he is also called captain cool.
He won the following awards:
International Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009. The prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award was given to him in 2007. Padmasri and Padmabhooshan Awards.
Why I aspire Dhoni to be my role model:
He is always a role model for all youngsters. He is always cool in any pressurized situation. He always assesses the situation of the game and adjusts his batting and keeping style to that. Hence his calmness and down-to-earth attitude are always best for the team and so he is a team man who took his team with himself and always gives them the chances to grow and play well. Hence I loved him and respect him a lot.
